Elite Transportation Risk Retention Group, Inc. is a Vermont licensed insurance company. It was originally founded in 2005 in Arizona, is now licensed in Vermont and specializes in commercial transportation companies.
ETRRG provides a long term, stable insurance market free of the volatility in pricing and coverage exhibited by traditional insurers. Elite currently has premiums in excess of $6,000,000 and is made up of 13 transportation companies. Limits of $1,000,000 may be purchased within the RRG. Quarterly meetings are currently being held in the Harrisburg, PA vicinity.
A Risk Retention Group is an insurance company permitted under the Risk Retention Act of 1986. It is a form of captive, owned and capitalized by its policyholders, all of which are in a common industry.
ETRRG is owned by the member transportation companies themselves, and unlike many other companies, every dollar in profit is returned to the policyholders in the form of a dividend.
As of 12/31/11, ETRRG has returned over $2 million in dividends back to its policyholders.
